This 27inch 8.2lb Trout was caught at Buena Vista while trolling from a personal inflatable pontoon boat with electric motor. I was using a very small crank bait with white red and green colors no larger than my pinky. Was never expecting to catch something so large out there and the trout net I brought along was just a joke, this fish couldn’t even fit halfway into it.
Next trip... much BIGGER NET!
This was my first time out on the water at Lake Evans, Buena Vista. My brother was along with same rig setup. I also caught two Catfish over 3.5lbs each on plastic crawdads with scent added.

...caught three trout at the small lake on jumbo night crawlers last Wednesday about 9:00am...at least 13" long...one pole top fished and the other bottom...both caught fish. This was the morning after a good rain...and it spinkled off-and-on that Wednesday.
Fish Report 3-26-2010
Submitted by Dave on Wed, 03/31/2010 - 12:56LAKE ISABELLA: Trout action has continued good and the last plants of 15,000 penned fish go into the lake this week for this weekend’s (Saturday through Monday) 21st Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby. This event has over $200,000 in potential tagged fish prizes this year. For more information go to www.derby.kernrivervalley.com. Some surface action for fly anglers in the mornings, but most of the action is on floating baits or trolled lures. The largemouth bass bite broke wide open this past week with a lot of quality fish. Two Bakersfield anglers caught and released 54 bass over the weekend, including 31 fish over six pounds, and the best fish was a nine-pounder. The bass have been on plastics, cranks, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits. Also some improving catfish action with a pretty fair bite, mostly in the North Fork arm and mostly on frozen shad. A few crappie starting to show again, too, but still light fishing pressure. Information: Bob’s Bait 661-833-8657.
New Law: 25 fish limit on crappie and bluegill
