There was a kids fishing derby saturday the 6th ages 14 and under sponsord by NOR
Several Thousand pounds of trout were planted in mirror lake at  Hart Park,
giving the kids a great chance to pull in serveral trout.

After 11 the lake was open to the public. As of 11am Saturday there has been at least a hundred poles in the water.

Most of the fish have been pulled from the lake but there is still some in there.

Lots of people are still using Garlic Power Bait as it's hard to find on the store shelves right now.

From Noon untill about three I saw 7 fish pulled from the lake which is considerably slower than this morning and yesterday.
One decent maybe three pound bass was caught on a power worm on un ultrlight rig but before the fish was landed 
the line stagged. (I saw this my self)

Students from Sunset School, a special education facility run by the Kern Superintendent of Schools, will have the time of their lives on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the annual Kern Kiwanis Club sponsored "Take A Kid Fishing" Derby.

Bluegill are still biting at Hart Park. 
We were there the morning of 6-27-09

There's mostly small but they loved our Redworms.
Look for Shaded areas as we only got hits in the shade from over hanging trees.

I have been fishing at Lake Isabella, Hart Park, River Walk Park, the Aquaduct, and the Kern river. Oh and I almost forgot Truxtun Lake.  I have caught multiple fish at every location for the last couple of weeks (5/30/09 - 6/10/09).  The Crappie at Lake isabella have been out of control.  Not too many huge ones, but I caught limits of 25 keepers on three trips last week. Red and white, and Chartreuse crappie jigs seemed to be the hottest, though they were biting almost everything.  Sorry for a lack of Pictures.
