HART PARK LAKE: DFG trout plants last week and three weeks ago. Fair action on floating baits and inflated nightcrawlers doused with garlic scent. Other species are very slow.

TRUXTUN LAKE: DFG trout plants last week and three weeks ago. Just fair trout action. Other species very slow.

RIVER WALK PARK: A special plant of trophy trout went in for this past weekend’s fishing derby as part of the regular DFG plant, and the action has been good since. Chloe Ann and Andy Cantu, Bakersfield, each had five-pound rainbows, while Polo Cantu had a limit of trout to three pounds. The Cantu’s were using PowerBait. Dage DeLeau, Bakersfield, caught a seven-pound rainbow on a nightcrawler. The bluegill bite has turned on with the warm weather with the fish packing into the shallows and whacking waxworms.

MING LAKE: Pretty fair trout action on PowerBait and garlic nightcrawlers. DFG trout plants last week and three weeks ago. Other species are slow.
